I'm a language teacher.
After finishing French Teaching academy, I attended an online TESOL certificate program and succeeded to get the certificate. But I currently live in Turkey and there are'nt so much job opportunities for ELT here. Besides, the salaries are very low.
Other then these, teaching is one of the most tasty careers if you really love it.
Anyone who is choosing teaching as a career should think seriously about what they want out of the job. Anyone who is absolutely passionate about teaching should probably go into the private sector. Teaching in the public schools is filled with myriad problems, the worst of all being that there are policies in place that actively discourage student learning.
I recommend this career for people who care about students and who are willing to work around the system for their benefit or who plan to go into the private sector.
I've had too much fun teaching to ever regret having chosen this field. However, it is a field that is going downhill quickly. If I had to do it all over again today, I'd take a pass.
It is a "safe" job in a recession. Many people use it to fall back on, which is a shame. I think it is just too difficult to deal with the discipline problems and politics unless you really love teaching the students.
Most people who think about going into teaching aren't aware that their jobs can depend on standardized test scores, and that they will end up having to choose between teaching the students something useful and teaching to the test.
This is a noble profession.Take it up.If Iam given a chance to go to the same job I definitely would choose the teaching job. Teaching gives a chance to update your knowledge on the subject you teach. The same may become a boredom and tedious as we have to teach the same thing again and again. The work load is high to make you disgusted. To go as a teacher first you have to join a school where they are teaching the methodology and train you in child management and other things.after getting certificate from such centers you can search for the teaching job.
