It's a good career, referring to working specifically in a bank. Work with knowledgable co-workers, who are there to help and guide you to a point where you feel confident doing things on your own quickly and they also make it a comfortable environment where you can ask questions without feeling nervous about it.
For those who enjoy working with numbers, and helping others with said numbers, then it would be a recommended job. The pros of working at the bank is the friendly atmosphere it emanates; most of the workers know exactly how you feel, how nervous you might be, and empathize. The cons can be irate customers who have not taken the time to understand or learn the bank's policies; this same face can be found of some co-workers as well.
There seems to be this feeling of uneasiness in general towards banks, when at teh same time, banks tend to have a friendly and kindly manner, and try to open their arms to any customer who comes in through the door. Banks tend to welcome anyone who wants to work there, as long as they are willing to go through the rigorous procedures of safety and identification. The company enjoys having long term employees, and for this reason, in banks there tends to be much room for growth, which is wonderful since it allows those who work hard and want to to move into higher positions over a bit of time. |
