Automobiles are everywhere! Most everybody has one or more vehicles. They ALL have moving parts. Moving parts break. It is important to have people who can identify and repair the proper parts. Continuing education is a must in this field. Pay is GREAT, too, because there are not many GOOD technicians, as they are in high demand.
