If you want to get into nursing get ready to sign away all of your free time and start dating your text books. Nursing should not be taken into lightly. I believe a person needs a strong commitment and a lot of time to get into this study. It is very challenging and most end up quitting because its too much for them, but if you hang in there its worth every penny.
It is extremely difficult, and you will rack up quite a bit of debt, but the payoff in the very long run is outstanding. You get to work with friendly people, you get to help save lives, and the debt is fairly easy to pay back once you get a M.D. Only attempt this major if you really feel you can put large amounts of time in to getting outstanding grades in the required courses.
Nurse / Nursing Assistant / Aide and Patient Care Assistant:
If I had it to do over again, I would still choose this major. The only downside is low pay. $10 an hour in 2006. Quick trainning though, only 8 weeks.
