I wanted to study textiles and interior design. WSU didn't offer anything remotely close, so my advisor suggested I choose Fine Arts, the program was decent. Although I dropped my courses because I knew I didn't want to go into anything realated to Fine Art. For me it was a bit of a waste. If your passion is in Interior Design, you would be better off attending a technical school.
I went to WSU because it was in-state and in the town I grew up in. I also had multiple scholarships. Because I didn't know exactly what I wanted to major in, it was a good choice. It is a fantastic Engineering school in many disciplines. It is also a very multi-cultural school with a wide range of attendees. Some programs stop at the undergraduate level requiring a change to a different school if you want to get your masters or above.
