I spent a year at the Newark Campus, enjoying my time there more often than not. The dorms weren't in the best condition, but they were spacious. We had three bedrooms, a large living and dining room, two full bathrooms and a galley kitchen. Each bedroom had two open closet areas, as well. The campus was small, as might be expected, which made finding all of your classes relatively simple. There wasn't much to do in the area, but Columbus and the rest of OSU are not far away and are easily driven to. This was all five years ago, so the town may have changed since then.
I would not have chosen to go to Newark on my own (OSU sent me there), but in the long run I think being on a smaller campus for my first year of college worked out for the best. It's a good way to ease into the experience without being overwhelmed by the enormity of such a large school at the main campus. And you still get football tickets.
40 years ago, women used to score 50 points lower on the Math portion of the SAT than on the Verbal. Today, their Math and Verbal scores are nearly identical on average.
