Don't let the small town fool you with this college. Locally, it's known as one of the hardest colleges to attend and pass. My experience has been educational but still frustrating. If you don't think you can really apply and dedicate yourself to your major, leave Macon State College alone. It's hard but rewarding in the end. The most frustrating experience has been with admissions and financial aid staff. They're mostly students, as well, who know just about as much as you do. My best advice for those who want to attend Macon State College is to have all of your paperwork ready (i.e., transcripts, health records, test scores, etc.) You will spend an eternity just trying to get everything straight.
In 1970, the percentage of college freshmen who considered themselves "liberal" was twice that of "conservative". Today, the percentages are nearly equal.
