Great school. Not overly competitive like most other ivys. Is located in the city, so be sure you are comfortable living in the city for the next 4 years- it isn't for everyone. Campus is decent and improving but to get the most of the experience, be sure to explore the entire city. I would absolutely choose this school again and this is coming from someone who thought about transferring out after 1 semester.

Great institute---wonderful educators and resourceful libraries.

I would recommend the school and would love to choose it again if I had to do it over again.

The concerns would be the location and city, Philadelphia. It took some time and effort to adjust and grow fond of it.

People should aware that its engineering is not the ultimate jewel of the crown.

UPenn is an amazing university. I definity recomend this institution to anyone considering going there. This is a very high caliber school with an amazing staff and an amazing group of students. The professors are very willing to help you learn and will generally meet with you whenever you ask. Most classes meet very often so a lot of time is spent learning the material from the professor. The classes are also a lot less grade oriented - the professors are much more worried about how much their students are learning than the grades they are receiving. If there is only one con about this school is the politics. It has a very heavy liberal campus, so be warned. Although most of the students are very welcoming to differing opinion, one might run into one of the more ignorant ones that are very closed and accept only their way as right. On a positive note the university's resources are out of this world. Their libraries are very large with an infinite amount of information. Without any doubt if I had to redo my decision to go there I would still chose to go there.

Penn is known as the Party school of the Ivies. I love it here, it's big so theres lots of life, but you really get to know a lot of the people in your year, and definitely your major. There's lots of choices for activities, I'm not a big drinker, so I tended to go to college sponsored events like free movies, quizzos, and local performances. The scholastics are wonderful, and most of the professors love to teach students who are as enthusiastic about the subject as they are. You can easily find a mentor here if you want. The libraries are amazing, the dorms are great, and Philadelphia is a great city. I'm really biased, but I also think that there's no other college that could have made me as happy as Penn did.
