One great advantage of UNM is that it is relatively small for being one of the large public universities. It has some classes that are huge lectures, but many of the classes beyond the 101 set are much smaller, giving students more face time with each other and the professor. It's a wonderful option for people with limited finances, although living on campus can be a financial drain.
Between 1970 and 1975, the number of law school graduates in the U.S. doubled! Since then, law degrees have been, by far, the most popular graduate degree.
