Unless you are absolutely sure you want to be a doctor and you want to finish medical school and undergraduate in 6 years, otherwise go somewhere else. Tuition is one of the highest in the country if you are out of state and they make you sign a contract forcing you to pay out of state tuition for as long as you are there. Education is terrible, seek elsewhere is my advice.

I found attending UMKC to be a great experience, I particularly enjoyed the courses in the Math department, almost enough to make me switch my major! It is a great, affordable school, I would recommend it.

I don't remember who originated this quote, but I agree that UMKC is a "cold, grey, inner-city college that doesn't play football." I would recommend this college to dental and medical students desiring a fast-track program heavy with hands-on experience. There is also a respected fine arts institute affiliated with the school which functions as a networking resource for rich kids. Liberal arts students should shop elsewhere for education, enlightenment, and parties. A few courageous, "old school" professors encourage critical thinking scholastic independence from the oppressive Liberal Orthodoxy and Political Correctness Doctrine throughout the school, however, the new Regime should soon extinguish those few, aging, long-ago published, actual teachers. I would recommend the School of Education to any slackers, hip-hoppers, rappers, NORML's, gangstas, and all other Democrats.

I attended the University of Missouri at Kansas City (UMKC). My recommendation would be not to attend this college if you are a recent high school graduate.

The issue with UMKC is that although they are a Division 1 school, they can not offer the same college experience as a larger university. They do not have a college football team. There is only one dormatory. The Greek system is small with four fraternities and four sororities. There is not a major on-campus life.

Although they have made changes to their campuses, it has not been enough. From my understanding UMKC is largely a commuter college.

Some positives that exist with UMKC are that most class sizes are small and you can actually have teacher-student communication. The largest class size I was involved with was 250 or so for general chemistry. There does not seem to be a problem with registering for classes as well. UMKC does offer a wide variety of majors and can support their curriculum accordingly.

Overall, if you plan to attend college to obtain the "college experience" then UMKC is not the school for you. If you are more interested in getting your degree and nothing more than it could be a consideration.
