The University is located on the waters of Mass Bay. The professors provide excellent instruction and individualized instruction. The Administration is woefully inept, with the centerpiece of the student's adminstrative experience being the "One Stop" an office billed as your one stop for everything. However, actual experiences show that the One Stop seems to be the place to go for directions to the office you actually need to talk to. Further, the University comprises of one gigantic building with a subteranian parking garage beneath. The garage is largely closed due to poor construction, and the entire building is slowly sinking into the sea. If you're planning to attend, do so sooner than later, because like Atlantis, it'll someday be gone.
UMass is a great place to attend if you enjoy city life. Everything you need is right at your fingertips: museums, libraries, historical societies, parks, public transportation and an extensive night life to choose from.
Another plus is the cost. UMass is a top notch school at a fraction of the price you would pay to a private university. Overall, it is a quality education.
