Hendrix College is an amazing undergraduate college. What has most impressed me is that 90% of the stuff Admissions told me when I was applying is true!
The students and professors here are some of the most hospitable, easy-going people you will ever meet. Every student is a bit quirky, which makes the social scene lots of fun. Campus life is very active, with all sorts of things to do every day. The main problem we have is over-scheduling ourselves because Hendrix encourages students to pursue their interests, even if there's no career future in them.
The best example of this is the Odyssey program. Hendrix doles out money to students to do cool projects. Some recent examples: a girl went to New York City to study gender roles in Broadway musicals; another girl is currently raising a seeing-eye dog on campus; and one guy constructed aquariums for his Odyssey. All on the college's dime!
Hendrix is really unique in that kind of way. Another example of this is that for orientation week, all the freshmen play games and go on trips from Magic Springs and Memphis to camping and water skiing.
The campus is gorgeous; I can't describe it. You'll have to see it for yourself! Same goes for Shirttails.
The one major downside of Hendrix? THE INTERNET. It's very, very slow compared to most other WiFi connections. An Ethernet cable helps, but... Parking is also an issue, though not as big of one as most people say.
Aside from all of that, though, the one thing I wish I could express about Hendrix is the sense of community. We're all really connected from the get-go. Everyone is accepted for who they are here. Period. Because Hendrix looks at college as a chance to grow into you want to be - not somebody else.
