Dordt College is a small Christian College based in the Reformed tradition of Christianity. The college offers a lot of big school opportunities for a small school. There are advanced Engineering, genetics and masters in education programs offered. Business is a top degree as well. The school allows you to be as involved or not involved as you want.
When considering housing for your first year, go "pot-luck". It gives you the opportunity to meet someone different than your friends from before. Commons food is OK, get the 14 meal plan and eat out or at the Defender grill the other seven meals.
I would totally do college over again. I would have studied a lot harder my freshman year and taken the FREE tutoring that is offered in the Library. The college has about 1500 students in a town of less than 10000. The setting is quite conservative, but there are a lot of liberal thinking people as well. Good mix!
The college has excellent arts opportunities too. The weather is cold, but unless your married or 22+, you will be housed on campus, so the walks aren't too long. Nice athletic complex that is included with the cost of tuition.
While scores on the Math portion of the SAT have remained fairly consistent over the past 40 years for men, their average Verbal scores have dropped about 30 points.
