Cleveland State University is a good school, IF, you a proactive and serious student. It is a place where the quality of instruction is better than might be expected from its reputation, but it will be up to you to seek it out. CSU is primarily a commuter school, the average age of the students is older than the traditional 18-24, and since CSU has been, until recently, an open addmission school the level of preperation is all over the map. A student can get a good, even a great education at CSU, but they have to seek it out. Generally seeking if you don't come to class at CSU, no one will come looking for you, if you don't try to make friends with other students, you won't, if you don't seek out the instructors to ask questions or discuss material, you are on your own. Conversely, if you attend class, seek out friends, visit the profs, you will have a surprisingly good expereince, and will leave with a better education than most would expect given CSU's repuation as "Concrete State Univesity," as a gritty, urban, open-admission, school. |
