Centenary was a small, fairly close-knit community. The best programs were: music, biology, sociology, and math. Greek life was limited - 2 sororities and approx 5-6 fraternities. The campus is aesthetically pleasing and fairly safe. Cafeteria food was terrible. Student life and housing staff were also terrible, but the faculty was of very high quality. Shreveport, LA is growing and has some nice benefits (like casinos) without some of the drawbacks (like traffice) of larger cities.
About a third of the students at Washington and Lee University still receive some financial aid from interest on an endowment set up by George Washington in 1796.
