CSUF is a great way for students to get a degree for a lot less money than they would pay at a UC school. I recommend living close to school and riding a bicycle or walking to school because the orange county traffic can be very heavy. The teachers there are top-notch leaders in their fields who impart real world experience to their students to prepare them for successful careers. I recommend this school for anyone that wants a great education without breaking the bank to get it.
I enjoy the students, though it is a commuter school, which means pretty much everyone drives their. The schools planning for new buildings is pretty up to date. They have a ton of new projects in the works and being planned. The school is small, but the buildings are tall. Like any school some teachers are great and some teachers suck. Overall the college provides everything that i want.
CSUF is a great local college that will not break your budget. Although CSUF is not known for its computer science department, that lack of name recognition hasn't affected my career in the slightest. Software developers are hired on the basis of what they know, as demonstrated by interviews and the resume. What school you went to really doesn't make a lot of difference in this field.
I liked the school because I got a good education at a reasonable price. Going to MIT or Stanford wasn't an option I pursued. Perhaps I would have learned more. But I don't think it would have made any difference in my salary.
