Great experience. For the independant and self motivated artitst. Use all the departments to achieve your goals. mingle with all other artists. I would like to get my masters degree there. Not for anyone who needs a push. Internships are the key to industry jobs.
CalArts is a very special place, and I loved the 4 years i spent there. The classes are small enough to get plenty of personal attention, but the student body itself is diverse enough to not feel too tiny or limited. I would definitely go to calarts again. A student can learn so much there, but it is possible to slide by doing a minimal amount of work; don't be that student! Do ass much as you can and you will learn an amazing amount of STUFF. My best adivce: arrive to class registration early, don't get behind on "critical studies" credits, and stay focused on your major. Don't be afraid to try something new!!
The number of students who study the Russian language in U.S. colleges has dropped in half since the end of the Cold War. Chinese, on the other hand, has doubled.
