Briar Cliff University is a small, private institution. As is the case with many tight-knit organizations, it matters who you know at Briar Cliff to get the best financial aid package, best housing situation and best work-study positions. Many students have had family members that have attended Briar Cliff in the past, and there is a definite difference between them and students who are completely new to the BC community. Knowing this, I would not choose to go to Briar Cliff again (even though I feel as though I had an adequate education there). There are other opportunities for better financial aid packages that would have served me better in the long run. However, if you are set on a small, private, Catholic college in a small Iowa town - Briar Cliff is an option that is worth checking out. Just treat your meeting with the financial aid counselor as you would a meeting with a used car salesperson!
