The Computer Technology degree program and lab has the finest equipment available in any college and expert assistance is always available. The registered nursing and radiologist technician degrees are among the top in the Southeast and generally if you have the degree from GSCC, you are hired!
One of the best in the state, the Athletic department's basketball and tennis teams compete far and wide with the greatest success. Lifeguard, boating and water endurance programs are taught and certified in the indoor Olympic-sized pool. The outdooor clay tennis courts are USPTA certified.

The co-ed dormitory is located below the cafeteria and classrooms buildings and each day you can see the dorm students from far and wide mingle before going to class, activities or dining. The library and student common rooms are well-stocked and updated.
The campus is beautifully landscaped and kept well-maintaiedn. The quad has a geyser fountain in its center where on a hot day, you'll see students and even staff and faculty sitting on its rim enjoying the cool mist emitting from it. There is a public boat dock on the Coosa River which lines the "Back 40" of GSCC, past the horticultural gardens and hot houses storing and raising floral and produce varieties. Annually the Alabama Special Olympics uses the GSCC's excellent facilities with its students volunteering their time in assisting in the many sports and participating events.
If ever you want a modern, friendly and beautiful college away from the "big city" hustle and bustle to study in, this is the place. I ought to know - I graduated with two degrees from GSCC and have sent a few relatives to study successfully since my graduations.
