Hi everyone! I am Olivia, I am a certified nurse assistant for 23 years. I was thinking to get certified as a veterinary assistant. Moreover, I am aware about the salary and the physical part of the job. As a nurse assistant, my job is almost similar as a vet assistant in regards of the physical part and the low salary. I am not happy with my current career, because of the co-workers being rude and nurses treat us like morons. I work the night-shift, and I work with people that are not a team work. Furthermore, the director of nursing don't appreciate the work we do. The nursing where I work, is run by the county. Every nursing home I have worked, they are always short of help which is why everyone is tired and burned out. I don't want to sound negative about it, but this career there is not appreciation by the nurses or administration. Is it different in the veterinary career? please send me a feedback. |
