The best part of being a Land Surveyor is I get the best of both worlds. I spend about half the week in the office working on the computer drafting. The rest of my week can be working in the woods, swamps, new developements, construction sites, in town, or in the country. There is a very deep history in surveying. Just the other day I found an Iron monument under a rock pile that hasnt been seen since 1905 when it was set. There are some negatives to the job. Sometimes working on 100 degree days around no trees or -10 below once again with no trees to knock down the wind. The bugs can get alittle annoying. If you like math, history, and have some people skills this would be a great career. Just like anything else you have to be part sales man. I would recommend this career to anyone that likes not being stuck in a rut.
