If I had to do this over again, I am not too sure if I would choose this career or not. Earlier this year, I was actually looking into another profession, but I felt it was a little late to change things. There are some pros to being a social worker. It can be rewarding and enjoyable but it also has some cons. You do not get paid well in some places (depending on where you are) and sometimes you might have to work at a place where you do not want to work.
Some things people should know about this career that they might not have heard about is that it is a lot more work than you truly think. And also keep in mind that sometimes your days might be non-stop. You could be counseling a client, then next second driving a client to Social Services, then running a psycho-educational group. It can sometimes get pretty draining, especially when you first start.
