While waiting to be enlisted in the Army, I've taken the opportunity to work as an account clerk at Grand Hyatt Hotel in my country. Looking at the job scope, the pay and my age, I would say it's definitely worth it.
My tips and advice is that do not be afraid to make mistakes. By learning from error, you'll gain more confidence hands-on. Also do not be afraid to ask questions if you are having doubt about your work.
For those who prefers to work in an office environment be it in normal office or in cubicles, I would definitely recommend them on getting this type of job.
I would definitely love to return in doing this job once I finished serving the nation, earning a diploma or degree first when I continue my education.
The pros are you will definitely gained knowledge & valuable experiences from those veterans who has worked there longer than you. Eventhough with quite a big gap difference in age, you can still "click" with them. Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner are served for Free at the workers cafeteria. There are even tea breaks. =) The cons are at times you might feel sleepy when you've been working long in front of the computer for 3/4 day. To ease the weary, just grab a bite or drink. Even hearing to music or having a short conversation with your colleagues can help you being awake. Another thing is that when you make mistake, a talk with the boss makes you feel like you are facing the firing squad. =X
By default most people has the misconception that working in an account department or office is damned bored. But I was enlightened when the office & its people are quite alive & active.
