I love my job! I work in a medical office doing the procedure charges entering, billing and insurance denials as well as an a/r report. I have worked directly with patients and I enjoy being able to work independently more. I have my own office, I see results when working a monthly a/r report. If I had to do it over again, yes, I would choose this field. The one thing I would encourage others to do is if they enter charges, to become a certified medical coder. It not only makes your job easier, you also get paid a lot more.
Right now I work in a medical office were I do the billing and work insurance denials and a/r. I love my job! Why? Well, I have been on the other side where I deal with patients one on one and I enjoy having my own office, being able to work at my own pace and seeing results from working an a/r report every month. If I had to do it over again, yes, I would choose this field again. The only thing I would suggest is for someone who also enters procedure charges also, as I do, to become a certified medical coder. That way you can love your career and get paid better for it!
