I work as a Case Specific Home Health Aide, which means that I work with only one client, and I do so on a regular basis. It's very rewarding work, as you can clearly see the difference you're making in someones life. You also get a chance to build up a very good relationship with your care receiver; you will probably become very good friends. It is also a lot of work, however, and can be very stressful. It's difficult to spend several hours a day giving someone complete care, as they are often entirely dependent upon you. There will be times you just want to take a break. Despite all of the stress that can come with this work, I would still recommend this to people who want to help others. Like I said before, it's very rewarding. At the end of the day you'll feel good about what you're doing.

This is a great career for those who sincerely like people and feel good about helping others. This is something that I would definitely do again. The feeling of knowing that you have helped people to be able to live in their own homes and have a better quality of life is wonderful.

Its good to find a reliable agency to work for. I like this field and love working with people. Yes I would recommend this career. You learn to work with alot of different types of individuals with different needs. There is alot of companionship and compassion. you build a good relationship with your clients. Occasionally you might have a grumpy client that doesnt want you to be there, but I just smile and try to do the best job I can to assist them and help them to have a good day!!!

I am a caregiver. I would recommend this career, and would do it over again. It can pay decently and offer benefits, and is definitely much easier than juggling multiple customers in a fast-paced environment in retail. The pros are getting to build one-to-one relationships and getting used to what they are like, as well as a slower-paced environment, where, when the work is done, your work is to be a companion. The cons are that you have to remember multiple clients' preferences on how they do things, particularly if they are the meticulous type. You also have to learn to shield negativity and deal with conflict. Additionally, you can't talk about your work due to confidentiality.

All in all, it's an opportunity to grow as a person. You receive exposure to different lifestyles and personality styles.
