In my opnion, Accounting is a very good opportunity to whom love mathematics. It occurs very large number of vacancies are now. Without this nothing cannot be operated. Due to my opnion the brain of a company is always a brilliant accountant. Now the accounts is fully operated in computer by different financial programms. It is also a very responsible job. I wish to recommended this career for the people who wish to become the main of a company.
You must be good in and enjoy math to even consider this career. In this job you either like it or hate it. It isnt something you can get "used" to. I recommend this career only under those circumstances. If I had to do it over again, I would choose something else only because there are no surprises in this career and it can get boring. That is the con, it gets boring. The pros are it is rewarding. But it is a dull job. I always wanted to go into nursing when I was younger and just sort of ended up here. I think nursing would have been interesting. There is nothing interesting about accounting. You must realize this before you dedicate your life to it.
You need to enjoy working with numbers and figuring things out. Reconciling accounts, analizing numbers, watching for patterns to see if there is anything odd or strange going on. This career would not be for someone who needs or likes to associate with others it can be a solitary job in which you might not make a lot of friends.
I think the people who choose this as a career should be prepared for routine, little creative input, and a general knowledge that things will be cyclical. Change is infrequent and regimentation is a fact of life. I would not have chosen this as a career and am currently looking to explore other options.
One thing that is assumed about a lot of bookkeepers is that they are hard with the facts and somewhat difficult to get along with. I am neither of these things and thusly have not excelled at my career.
Being a very numbers based person, it was easy to fall into a career where my days are spent keeping track of money, loans and other financial information for a real estate company. The best parts of job include the ability to work flexible hours due to no acutal office duties, being able to take time off and work from home when necessary to take care of my children and the satisfaction of knowing you are doing a good job when the numbers all balance correctly at the end of a day. It can be a difficult job when mistakes are made and you have to find them and correct them as soon as possible. I can be stressful when the smallest mistake that is almost impossible to see keeps you searching for hours and it can also be stressful when the mistake is very large and has the potential to cause a chain reaction financial issue. If you are the kind of person that is very good with numbers and can handle a detail oriented position, I would highly recommend it!
Advice: Patience and attention to detaill is a must in this career It is challenging and fun to work with numbers and hence is a career that I would recommend if you enjoy doing the above two Pros: working with numbers keeps your brain active and sharp you get to understand the financial aspect of the business
Cons: It can sometimes get frustrating if numbers don't balance Demands more time System failures can effect performance
though there are software systems that corporations use for their accounting/ book keeping needs the job still requires lot of man hours to plug in all the required info with accuracy and to coordinate with respective clients/departments to maintain and produce timely reports
I would recommend the career of bookkeeping. The work is interesting, because if you work for an independent firm that does bookkeeping for its clients you will get a variety of work. I am always interesting to learn about different companies and how they manage financially. Each company you do bookkeeping for is a little different, and that keeps your job interesting. I would definetly choose this career if I had to do it all over again! One thing that you should know about bookkeeping is that it is not necessarily done the same way you learn in school. During college you learn standard rules and procedures, but often companies do not fit into these molds. You learn so much more by simply doing the actual work than you will ever learn in school.
It's a pretty good low level job and would be even better if there were definite room for advancement, but if not you might just be stuck in it for a while. You have to have a certain mentallity that says 'someone's got to do the dirty work, and hopefully it'll be for just a a couple of years or so'. If you want money, money, money then this isn't your job.
This is the closest I could find. I work as a Vault Clerk at a wholesale club-store. My job is counting and recording cash drops made by cashiers. I sort of fell into this position and I adore it.
I recommend it for anyone who is good at working on their own, and someone who is motivated.
I really enjoy counting money, it may seem mundane to some people, but I tend to find it relaxing in many aspects.
The only cons I experience in my position is being more or less retail, many customers call and while I don't mind extending my customer service skills to them, the calls can sometimes be distracting and overwhelming.
