As a woman, I found this field of study to be a great stepping stone for me, a door opener and a background that prepared me for my career as an estimator. The hands-on learning is essential for those who feel unchallenged or uninterested in book studies. I took many different skills and references with me into the related field where I have worked for almost nine years. This major gave me a firm footing and credentials in a traditionally man's world. Fortunately, it is more than enough where I work and is a benefit to fall back on when I look for work in the future.
