I've always loved writing and photography, however, my senior year of high school I began to see the economy for what it was; an unstable uncertainty, and therefore decided against pursuing my passions.
I have considered everything from Physical Therapist Assistant, Diagnostic Medical Sonographer -- to graphic design.
I just don't know how to make a decision. How did you eventually decide what you were going to do with your life? |

Sometimes the "pick your passion" message is the wrong one. Most of us chose something we could do / enjoy ... I have so many passions, but none by themselves would pay bills, so I find ways to employ them within or around a standard career. Does that make sense? If you "just pick" something and mentally explore it, possibly even interview others in it or job shadow, rest assured - you'll likely pick something that contains parts of things you enjoy. If it has requirements that are within a naturally weak area, those will likely deter you. You can also look at typical incomes against a comfortable lifestyle, and measure how careers on your short list compare.
Good luck |
