| Hi everyone. I'm applying to UVa for next year -- not sure it's my first choice -- but I was hoping to meet others thinking of going there. Anyone else applying there? What have you heard? |

| Okay, even though I swore I would never do this, as I am a Virginia Tech alum and thus a sworn enemy of UVA, I also grew up in Charlottesville and got to see the college many times first hand. What I DO know about it is this. It's supposedly a wonderful school academically. The community is good, busy enough as a college town, but family oriented enough to be safe and comfortable at the same time. So that's just a local's perspective. Good luck either way, and if you get in, say hello to my cousin Jeff if you run into him on campus! :) |

Thanks Jennifer. Columbia's actually been my first choice so far, but I've been struggling with whether to go with small town or big city...hell, I don't even know if I'll even get into Columbia, but so far I really like what I've read about UVA. Plus, I'm not really sure I'm ready just yet to move to NYC where I don't know anyone. Maybe UVa's more me???
I dunno. I'll have to think about it.
Thanks again.
