| Community Guidelines |
Basic Etiquette
Please be considerate and follow these basic rules of etiquette: (a) Don't use all capital letters in your forum postings. It's considered "shouting" online, makes other members uncomfortable, and is difficult to read; (b) Don't post the same message more than once in a forum or in multiple forums. This is considered "flooding" our forums with the same message; and (c) While our discussion forums encourage a wide range of opinions, please keep your posts focused on the subject of each forum. Posts that are off-topic may be moved or deleted.

Usernames
Please choose a username that is in good taste. If you choose a username that, in our sole discretion, is obscene, indecent, abusive, or which might otherwise subject us to public disparagement or scorn, we reserve the right, without prior notice to you, to automatically change your username, delete your posts from our site, deny you access to our site, or any combination of these options. Anyone who tries to impersonate a MyPlan.com staff member, writer, moderator, or another user will be banned immediately, permanently, and without notice.

Privacy & Personal Information
Never provide your password, telephone numbers, or home address to anyone online. Be very careful about responding to solicitations for interviews or research (unless invited to do so by a MyPlan.com staff member). Give out your e-mail address only if you want to receive e-mail. If you choose to display your e-mail address or instant message username(s) in your community profile, you've made it public and given other users tacit permission to contact you. By default, such information is not made public, but you may choose to make it public. To modify your community profile, visit: Public Profile and Community Preferences.
Never divulge private information about another person online. That includes the person's real name, e-mail address, and any other personal information that the person has not made public. Don't forward or post private messages that someone has sent you unless you have his or her permission. Only send e-mail to another MyPlan.com member if they have given you permission. Please don't solicit other people's personal information.

Inappropriate Language
Please do not use inappropriate or offensive language when posting on our forums. Inappropriate or offensive language includes, but is not limited to, any language or content that is sexually oriented, sexually suggestive or abusive, harassing, defamatory, libelous, untrue, vulgar, obscene, profane, hateful, or that contains racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable material of any kind. We won't tolerate hateful communications — such posts will be deleted and violators may be banned.

Personal Attacks & Harassment
Do not attack, harass or "flame" other members of the community. A personal attack might include name-calling, mocking, taunting, harassing, deriding, using threatening or insulting language, or violating another member's privacy. You're free to discuss your personal views (as long as they're on-topic), but please don't attack the beliefs, opinions, and choices of others.

Copyrighted or Trademarked Materials
It is illegal to post any content that is copyrighted or trademarked, unless you hold the copyright or trademark. Any material protected by copyright may not be posted in the message boards without the expressed permission of the author or owner of the copyright on that material. This includes reproducing the full text of news stories, articles, websites, etc. It is acceptable to provide a link to copyrighted material, to post brief excerpts, or to paraphrase other works, though we do strongly encourage you to cite the original source whenever possible.

Advertisements & Solicitations
Don't use our community area to advertise or solicit goods, services, or money. You may discuss your occupation, business, school or organization as long as it is pertinent to the topic and is not a blatant advertisement.
Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is prohibited. Pyramid schemes — chain letters that involve money — are not only prohibited, but they're also illegal.

Posting Images
Forum members are allowed to embed images in their messages by linking to an image that exists on another site. In addition to the copyright restrictions mentioned above, users should also refrain from embedding any images of a sexual or offensive nature. Any posts that contain offensive or pornographic materials will be removed immediately and violators will be banned.

Posting Links
You may link to any other site that provides information that helps answer another member's question or that is of general interest to members of a particular forum. Do not post links that are irrelevant. Do not post links that are solicitations. Do not post links to porn or other questionable material.
