I would recommend this college to anyone looking for a four year university. I personally would now go to Owens Community College in Toledo first, then transfer to UT. If you are new to the city, I would definitely recommend living on campus at least your first year. There are not many things within walking distance, and the University is not in a very good area of town. As it was a few years ago when I attended, I do know that parking then was terrible, so I wouldn't recommend a car if you are living on campus. I never had any problems with any of my professors, and I don't recall anyone who had any serious issues either.

I enjoyed University of Toledo for graduate school! I would recommend it! I came from a huge undergrad school, so being at a small school was a nice change for me. I would choose Toledo again, as I am in astrophysics, and I love that they have a telescope on campus! You should visit the school, as they let you see your specific department on the tour!

University of Toledo, is an amazing place for Engineers and Medical Students. It has now merged with MUO, so there is lots of funding and work available.

I have done engineering so I can sure speak for engineerin college. This college is a must for all budding creative engineers. They have a 100% co-op placements. Their Mechanical and Industrial Engineering is the most challenging and rewarding experience. They have professors doing cutting edge research.

If I had to re-do it all over again, I would certainly choose it because they train young mind to think creatively by giving hands-on projects to work on. If you get out of University of Toledo Engineering college, the companies in Michigan and Ohio area will recognize you as an intelligent and hard worker. The only con I can think of is, as a city Toledo is not that exciting.

Trivia about University of Toledo that other people don't know.

1. We beat Bowling Green University's Varsity Foot ball teams hands-down (almost everytime).

If you want to go to a top-rated engineering college, check out the University of Toledo. From research-based majors like mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, computer science engineering, chemical engineering, bioengineering, to their more hands-on versions - the engineering technology majors - UT gives potential engineers plenty of options to choose from. There is a lot to do around the campus - from shopping to theaters to going out to eat to enjoying parks. If you are a traditional student, I would recommend living on campus at least the first year. That way, you can experience life on your own and decide if it's for you. There are activities for dorm residents to get involved in. The dorms have laundry facilities and some even have restaurants and other stores. Then there are the places in the Student Union - the bookstore and various food places. Plenty of places to study - from the Student Union to the dorms to the University Library. And don't worry about having a car on campus - the University buses definitely can get you around - to other campuses and sometimes even to the outside world. The one thing though to be careful of is the neighborhood change when driving down Bancroft. If you pass the university and continue heading downtown, just stay aware of your surroundings.

The University of Toledo was an excellent school; especially for those of us that are adult learners.

I'd highly recommend the college to students that are going back to school after time away!

One of the things I enjoyed about the college was the willingness to work with me, to find a schedule and classes that fit my changing needs.

The Individualized Program is a good choice for those students that haven't decided on a specific career goal; or simply those students that want to take a variety of college courses, and still obtain that BA or BS.

UT offers Associate as well as Baccalaureate degrees. While obtaining both, my needs changed. UT advisors were invaluable to me as I worked on my degree.

UT offers a variety of courses for those seeking degrees online. I was able to complete the last two years of my BA online when I became too ill to remain in traditional classes. Online instructors were excellent in providing quality feedback for me throughout my career at UT.

After college, the Professors were great by helping me with recommendations when I chose a career path.

The experiences at the University of Toledo will be with me always. As part of my Associate program, I had the opportunity to become a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) for children. This is a memory I will take with me forever; and it would have never been possible without UT.

The work-study program offered me the opportunity to work with the juvenile justice system.

There are several attributes to the college, besides their excellent educational staff.

Their Rocket Card is a great way for students use their funding from loans for necessities throughout the community. For example, UT has affiliations with several local restaurants.

One thing that keeps me from listing UT as "Very Positive" is that they are very expensive. When I moved from the area, my tuition tripled.

For those living in Ohio, I believe itâ€™s an excellent choice!

I enjoy this University very much. The University of Toledo is highly known for their Engineering and Pharmacy programs. The University was ranked in the top 25 most beautiful public places a few years back. The downsides to the University are that it is highly a commuter campus. During the week, it definatly feels like there are 20,000 students but on the weekends, many students commute back home. On the positive side, the University of Toledo is relatively cheap compared to other Ohio Universities and the students who do not commute have a great time. The University of Toledo in my opinion is a party school. Overall, the academic programs at the University are great and it is a lot of fun.

I would recommend this college. A great college with lots of majors. Recently merged with the Medical College of Ohio. I loved staying on campus and having so many International Students who helped widen my scope on life. The campus is beautiful and safe to walk around. It is surrounded by 2 great neighborhoods, Ottawa Hills and Old Orchard where many of UT faculty and staff live. It's a nice public college not in the middle of a downtown area which makes it a nice place for kids to live on campus. There is a local major mall, 10 minutes to downtown for internships etc. Wonderful Art Museum and Theaters. You name it, Toledo has it without the lines and expense of bigger cities.

The University of Toledo is a good small town school.It has a broad range of course offerings and has recently merged with the Medical College of Ohio. This of course brings a lot of prestige and clout to both schools. This is great. University of Toledo is still small enough to get personal attention and get some opportunities to get community sourcing for internships and jobs. It had grown considerably in community image, and in the international community it has respect. I would recommend UT as a good school to attend if you need to focus and buckle down. Toledo is not exactly a party town and there's not much to get into. One might get annoyed that so many TA's do teaching for foundational courses, but that is pretty common elsewhere. I still say that for the money, location and quality of faculty, UT is a good place to attend.
