It's very convenient if you have family in the area. It also has access to many of the benefits and system resources of the UT System and its flagship school at Austin. It is also fairly inexpensive for an accredited university and students can get an excellent education there, with lots of faculty attention. It also offers many courses in the evenings for working students. As for cons, it is fairly small and most of its students live off-campus. It does not have a football team either.
In 1970, the percentage of college freshmen who considered themselves "liberal" was twice that of "conservative". Today, the percentages are nearly equal.
