I went to Engineering School of UT Dallas. If you have interest in Nano Tech. or sensor networks, this is the right choice. Also they have good computer science program. I would surly recommend this school. The only bad thing about the school is that tuition is on a higher side, but school has good links we industry, like TI etc. , so getting a job after graduation is not that tough.

serious college experience. excellent for older students and commuters. would not recommend for younger students looking for a lot of social activities.

UTD is a great school for people who are focused on learning and being challenged by smart professors. Of course not every class or professor will be challenging or smart, but I found a majority to be that way. This is not the right school for people who are interested in a Greek lifestyle because the focus is definitely on academics and not sororities or fraternities. There are Greek groups, but they are mostly academic based. I would definitely choose this college again because I feel I got a great education for a great price. The campus is small and not the most beautiful, but that seems fitting to the fact that most people are absorbed in their computers and books most of the time. I feel it is important to know that this is definitely a computer oriented school, so I wouldn't recommend it for someone who has no desire to learn or use a computer.

The school I currently attend, the University of Texas at Dallas, has gained a reputation locally as a nerd school with little social interaction. Well, it's sad to you that I agree that everything you might have heard about this school is true but not to the great degree people have seem to exagerrated it. True, the social scene is lacking. However, it's not nonexistant like most people think. You might just have to work at it a little more. You can join a Greek society or get involved with the organizations on campus. The bottom line is to not become deterred and stay in your apartment all day or go home right after class. One of the most critical things about UTD is the number of commuter students who just leave after class. This results in a large student population with little interaction. However, the academic offers a rich learning experience that ranks UTD as the third best public school in Texas. I would recommend it wholeheartedly if you're searching for an educational experience. If you're searching for a "party" school though, youmight want to search somewhere else. If I had to do it over again, I would not go to this school just because it was way to close to home. If it was located about 3 hours away, then I would definately consider staying.

University of Texas at Dallas is a very diverse school geared towards Computer Sciences and Engineering. The campus is rather boring, but there is an active student community. The faculty are accessible and helpful.

This is a great college for the curious student who values school involvement and education as much as the social experience. The faculty really go above and beyond to take a personal interest and are much more available than other schools I've learned about. What makes this even more impressive is their qualifications-we're talking Nobel Prize winners on staff. Because it has only accepted undergraduates for less than 15 years it is still open to molding by it's student body. The school will fund any club or organiation you want to start-- all you need is five people. The housing is also fabulous for a university - only apartments - no dorms. Everything from 1-4 bedroom offerings with great Peer Advisors to act as guidance in each building. UTD is a terrific school if you want to get a well respected degree and make your mark during your school career!
