  I attended UTA for my undergraduate in EC- 4 Education and returned for my Masters in Education. I love this university. The people truly care about student success and our campus President, James Spaniolo, is so supportive and entrepreneurial. He has made amazing strides in the improvement of school spirit, campus and community involvement, campus beautification, sustainability, and of course research and education.

I also truly love the diversity of the students. I learned so much about other cultures from the new friends I made while at school there. If you are really into sports, I’ll be honest; currently we are working to improve student and community excitement of our sports programs. However, our new College Park Event Center will open in just a few months which will include a new residence hall, apartments, new restaurant and retail space, additional parking, and the 7,000 seat event center for basketball games, concerts, and commencement ceremonies. I believe it will drastically change how people perceive and support our sports programs and campus life. Go Mavericks!

  UTA is known as a commuter school, though that is changing with their new dorms and on site living arrangements. This school truly shines on academics. From their engineering program to their nursing school, they have the strong academics combined with reasonable price. Biggest gripe: parking, or lack thereof

  I graduated from UTA in 2001 after attending night classes for over 5 years. I found all but two of my classes informative, well organized and worth my time. The professors that taught the two classes I did not like no longer work for UTA. My only complaint is that UTA felt too much like a “money mill” and not enough like an institution of “higher learning”. This university is conveniently located in the middle of Arlington, has plenty of free parking, is safe at night, clean, and well worth the price for a degree from the UT system.

  UT Arlington is an excellent school. Many of its programs are nationally recognized. If I had it to do over again, I wouldn't attend UT Arlington, because I would go to a university further away from home. The benefits of UT Arlington is it is a great school for commuters. You can live on your own without being very far from home. The cons include that it is a commuter school and it doesn't have a football team. UT Arlington is a great university. The professors are excellent instructors and take time with you.

  The college was about what one can expect from a state school. It was average, and a couple of the professors were very good, but the overall running of the school wasn't.
