USI reputation has been steadily increasing over the past years. The college offers very reasonable class sizes at affordable prices and has a great business department. Evanville's west side has grown along with the university and offers much to do. The only con that comes to mind is parking. When I attended, there were never enough parking spaces. I would recommend this school to others. If I were going to college again, I would likely choose USI again. I may even go there to get my MBA in the future.
I would advise those attending this college to be aware that it is still a smaller college. That is neither a positive or a negative. That all depends on what a person is looking for in a college. It has grown a lot over the past few years but it remains a college with a small town feel. Overall a degree from USI does not seem to hold either a positive or a negative connotation. I would recommend this college for people who are local to the area, not ready to be far away from home. It is a great commuter campus for the area and they are constantly expanding degree areas and availability of classes and programs offered. It is a college that caters to all age groups and it is very evident when one visits the campus. Students of all ages will feel comfortable within classes. I would choose USI again because it fit my life, my goals, and was a good school that offered a good education. I believe they have foward thinking people who are continually looking to improve what they offer to students and the community. The cons are really more related to what a more youthful studen might be seeking. It has campus apartment units. There is not a "dorm" setting so to speak so if one is seeking that, it won't be found at USI. What people may not know of USI is the number of professors on staff who are known on a nation level for various achievements and base of knowledge.
