My main tip is to bundle up, Rochester, NY is a cold town. But the University is well equipped for the snow. My advice is strictly to study hard, but learn to have fun. Most of the resources needed are within a mile radius of campus. People are friendly and there are many opportunities. Enjoy the campus lifestyle and become involved in community service and athletics.
It's a small university with great reputation. It's undergrad program is exceptional. The Strong medical center and Simon school of business are highly rated grad schools as well. I would certainly choose it again. Rochester is a small, inexpensive city. It's proximity to NYC make it a great place for job search. The city is also very close to Niagra Falls and Canada. The only disadvantage is weather. If you are not fond of snow, may be you don't want to be in Rochester.
This school is located on the outskirts of one of the coldest, gloomiest cities in the country Rochester, NY. While the campus is pretty nice in the spring that only lasts for three months out of the year. The rest of the time expect lots of snow.
The professors range from good to pretty exceptional, however since most of the students are apathetic and single minded don't expect scintillating conversation. The social life on campus is fine if you don't mind endless keg stands in sketchy frat-houses. If you're looking for anything more sophisticated head into the city, but watch out for the muggers. I would not attend this college again
