For students considering University of North Carolina at Greensboro, think primarily about your major. This school has an excellent reputation for Business, Education and Nursing. It is lesser known for other majors. The rest of the UNC system should be explored if you are interested in other majors. Pros: If you are a NC resident, there is no better education for you anywhere. Professors here are top-notch and are there for you in every possible way whether you are an on-campus student or living off campus and commuting. You will be exposed to large University life and treated as though this is just an extension of your education and NOT an end to it. You will begin to understand that learning does not stop here... it is only a beginning. Price is very competitive for the education you receive. Greensboro is multicultural and expansive. You will find something for everyone here... music, arts, theater all at student pricing. Cons: Parking is tough. Consider your parking pass a hunting license. Good luck and come early. If you commute, make effort to find ways to explore campus life. Otherwise, you will feel like you are merely visiting another's world. What people should know: There is abundant history in Greensboro. Civil war battlegrounds, civil rights activists, famous authors, poets, writers. Make sure you look around. |
