If a student is considering this college there are a few things they should know. First of all, this is a very large college. It is extremely easy to get lost in class or on campus and in the larger classes the professors will not care. Freshman and Sophomore years your classes will be at least 100 people. The communication for being active in the college life is not very well. You have to put yourself out there by going to the student centers or the websites to look for clubs or sororities you are interested in. If the student can get over those details then this is an excellent college. The professors expect a lot of studying and the best students in their classes. The college is hard to get into especially for in state students. If I had the chance to pick the University of Delaware or another college I would probably pick a smaller college. I say that because I did not realize the classes would be so big and base your grade on two tests, the mid term and the final. I am not the best test taker so a smaller college would have suited my needs better. The pros to the University of Delaware is that they will provide you with a well rounded education, they do provide a lot of clubs and activities for the students to participate in, and the sports are a big thing for students. University of Delaware provides a well rounded education because in order to graduate you have to take classes outside your major. For example, as a psychology major I had to take 12 credits of liberal arts so I took music, anthropology, and philosophy to name a few. The cons would be the size of the university. Even though there are pros and cons I would suggest the student to weight them for themselves. Some students want a large college with a lot of activities and others will want a smaller college. One more thing, University of Delaware is located within the city of Newark so there are a lot of stores, restaurants, and other businesses within walking distance.

Beautiful campus, good location. Many good teachers. Some say the students are apathetic. Wonderful student newspaper. Beware of the diversity training program.

I would highly recommend the University of Delaware to anyone wanting a very good education through a public university. The university draws a wide range of students due to its ivy-league appearance and feel. The history of the university places it as one of the top public education schools in the country.
Besides its impressive academic credentials, the University of Delaware has a great student atmosphere. There are many restaurants, lounges, and other places to relax that make the campus very unique. With the campus being spread out over the entire city of Newark, there is much to do and many activities to be involved in.
I would definitely attend the university again if I had the chance, and would highly recommend it to anyone who asks!

A medium/large college with an active undergraduae community. Graduate community also welcoming, but is often restricted to prople of the same major. Strongly recomend for those interested in a decent college with moderate workload. The student body aslo devotes much of tis tiem to recreational activities, with partying starting on Thursday.

UD was a good school. For those looking for a typical "college experience" this school has it all. Good football team, plenty of extra curricular clubs and activities. Theres plenty to choose from for your "evening activities" as well. Academically, its a great school too. Most classes are tought by full time faculty (as opposed to T.A's) The honor's program is a top rate institution. The campus is beautiful. Its very well groomed. The city of Newark is remarkably close to White Clay State Park. Visit the campus and you'll be convinced.

The school is a large campus and if you are a commuter, it is really hard to get around. They do have buses but you are at the mercy of the bus schedule and can often wait outside for 30 minutes for another bus. The classes are often in big lecture halls and it's not until you reach your upper years that you get to be in smaller classes. The bookstore never has things you want on time and is hugely expensive. Book buyback is a joke! The dining halls are ok but eating on campus is expensive if you commute. Parking is a complete and utter JOKE! Prepare to take the bus from the field house and scramble for parking. I was late for class way too often. I enjoyed a few of my classes but overall, I'm indifferent about my experience there.
