This is a good college for general study and it is strong in the sciences. I would choose this college again, yes. If you are from Colorado, it is a good school to choose as it is in state. It also now has dorms. It is not the biggest of schools which can be good for student to teacher ratios. The quality of course work is higher than you might expect. For a seemingly local college, it functions as a pretty full blown university. Sports teams are not it's strong point, though, as this is an area they are just developing. I also don't think they have much of a music program. It used to cater more to an older student, but over the years has broadened to fit the younger group just out of high schoo as well. It is overall a very good choice for undergraduate work and some graduate work.
While UCCS isn't in a college town, it has a great atmosphere. The location at the top of Colorado Springs makes for great views and convenient access to all parts of town. The parking situation has improved greatly since I've graduated. Most of my professors were very capable and also entertaining in class. The dorms are a fairly recent addition so it's the on campus community is not like CU Boulder. Still it's a great school to attend if you're already working and want to improve your career.
