This college is wonderful, though not for the faint of heart. Crime has been a recent problem and the campus can be somewhat scary after dark. I highly recommend this college to anyone desiring a college education in a diverse, urban environment. One of my favorite things about this school is that I'm not always sitting in a classroom full of people who look, talk, speak and think exactly the same way I do. I would absolutely choose this college again. My professors are wonderful, readily available and brilliant. The campus itself is a nice mix between "old school" and modern. The main student area, TUC, has a movie theatre and food court. It also has the university bookstore and an awesome coffee shop. It is clean and the landscaping is minimal, yet done well. The pros of this university are that: a) you get a relatively reasonably priced education, b) the sports programs are always exciting (if only because Nancy Zimpher is firing the coaches) and c) I've learned more about myself in the year I've been at UC than I did when I was at Miami University or Wright State. The cons of this university are: a) the crime on and around campus is frightening and unacceptable and b) parking is incredibly expensive ($8.50 for over three hours). UC was the first university to offer students a co-op program (a chance to work in a formal setting for college credit). |
