The Academy is a very challenging place to go to college. You sacrifice a lot of what students think is the, "typical college experience." That being said you get a great education, learn a lot about what you can accomplish, make the best friends you will ever have, and accomplish what not everyone can. If you want to be challenged and to truly better yourself- the Air Force Academy is a great place to go.
The Air Force Academy is very strong academically, but can be a very difficult experience for a young person who doesn't know what they want to do with life. Someone in that situation should probably not go here. It is a very conservative-leaning school and obviously pro-government. Uniforms, military discipline, and high-stress are all to be expected. All the rumors are you have heard are probably true.
