Tulane University is what you make of it. The facilities are excellent and so is the faculty, and while it is an easy school to get a B at, it takes a lot of hard work to get an A.
All of the classes are top notch, and the social scene of New Orleans leaves little to be desired. However, students should be careful to balance social and academic commitments. It does take a lot of effort to get that perfect grade, and while there is plenty of time to get your work done, the intensity of the social scene can easily overwhelm a student's studies.
The only real downside to Tulane is its administration. Overly bureaucratic and largely insensitive to student needs, dealing with the administration, the middle management in particular, can be frustrating.
In short, despite minor drawbacks, Tulane can provide you with the best 4 years of your life. Just make sure to balance play time with your studies or it could end up being your best 5 or 6 years. |
