Tufts has a good reputation, and is a reasonably good school. However, it's a little isolated, and is somewhat overshadowed by MIT and Harvard nearby. This doesn't bode well for the self-esteem of the students; we used to sometimes joke that we are Harvard rejects.
The professors are good, and Tufts has exceptionally strong philosophy and international relations departments. However, famous professors like Daniel C. Denett, are often somewhat arrogant and won't dedicate alot of time to students. Of course, there's always exceptions.
Tufts is an excellent school that has an inferiority complex. The students there are top-notch, but many of them would rather have gone to the Ivy League.
The location is very good, outside the city but accessible by subway with 15 minutes. The main campus has a very "new england" feel.
I would go to Tufts again for sure.
Tufts is alot of fun. The people are nice, smart and the classes are challenging. The only downside is that there is no wireless internet. The food is good. The best programs are international relations and pre-med. The other programs are OK, but IR and the dental school are what Tufts is known for. The study abroad program is great too and there are lots of great languages offered like arabic and chinese.
