Seattle Univerisity is a great service-learning oriented school. I've only had personal experience with a few of the programs, but from what I can tell most of them are excellent. The campus is beautiful, the dorms aren't too bad, and the food at the cafeteria is good for the price and is moving toward sustainable and organic options.
The one problem I have with it seems to be a problem common to many colleges - it has a lousy Career Center. If you want a leg up in your field, you're on your own if you're not in the business school. The one thing that mediates that a bit is that the service learning orientation of the school gives you a lot of opportunities for internships and the like, which can look good on your resume.
Well as all colleges go, there's a learning curve if you will, with regards to getting used to how things work around the campus.
I guess the best piece of advice i would give, is discuss all career decisions with the advisors, they are extremely helpful and will probably give you the bigger picture, because 10 years down the road, things will be much more different.
As far as recommending the college, I am totally for going to S.U. rather than UW. There are smaller classes and you get to know your teachers. Financial assistance is always available. Personally if i had to choose again, I would choose SU without blinking.
SU will help you on your way to a better education and eventually to financial success. A better education goes a long way.
