I'm certainly proud to be an SCU alum. As a small, liberal arts school is was an amazingly intimate place to go to college. One of the most priceless aspects of SCU is the opportunity to participate in social justice activites that are integrated into classes. It was also a wonderful location - being able to travel throughout the Bay Area on train for a nominal cost. The only real prohibitive aspects of attending SCU was the cost - both of education and living expenses in the area, but the opportunity and experience was worth it!
My recoommendation of SCU would depend on a student's intended major. For anyone interested in a Business program, SCU is great. It has a good reputation and the teachers have great real world experience. However, I don't believe that their Computer Science department is that strong. You will end up being required to take a lot of math classes and not as many useful programming courses. For an intended Computer Science type career, I would recoommend undertaking the Computer Engineering program instead.
If I could do it all over, I would possibly attend this college but would have done a different major.
With SCU, you have the benefit of small classes and being able to graduate on time. However, tuition increases drastically each year.
