  SJSU is an amazing school. I completed my Master's degree through their distance education program. I loved the program, the instructors were excellent overall, and I would do it again. The only catch is that the university office of graduate studies itself is not geared up for distance students, and that came into play for my last course, my thesis, which took an extra year to complete. So if you are in a distance program, and you have an option to skip the thesis and do a portfolio, I would recommend that instead.

  I absolutely loved my time at San Jose State. I had originally attending another bigger university and felt lost at that other institution. But, as soon as I went onto the San Jose State University, I felt at home. Professors at San Jose State University truly care about their students. In addition, there are so many jobs on campus for those of us that need to work while going to school. There are so great student activities on campus - everyone will find an organization that is right for them. The area around the campus is great fun. There is a good amount of homeless people living around the area around campus, but everything else is great. There are great restaurants (both fast food and sit-down) and great places to hang out.

  I like this college for its proximity to San Francisco without being in San Francisco. They have good programs for Engineering and Business, but adding classes is hell. With Open University students trying to take your spot, if you can help it don't ever try to add a class; enroll in it during your enrollment period.

  I highly recommend San Jose State University for anyone looking for a bargain on higher education. SJSU has excellent academic programs in a large amount of fields. The main thing SJSU is known for is that it is a commuter school. Since a large portion of the students live at home close to campus and drive to school, this is largely true. This means there is a reduced feel of campus community, but for those that live on campus and close to campus there are still many activities and clubs. The CSU's are somewhat of a bargain when it comes to tuition. Total fees come to about $3600 per year, plus an additional $200-$500 for books per semester, and if you choose to get a parking permit on campus they run about $250 per semester. This is one of the major advantages of SJSU, given the availability of housing in the immediate area surrounding campus and the slightly more expensive housing on campus. The cons of SJSU is that this is definitely not a close-knit personalized school. There are over 30,000 students, and while there are advisers and councilors, there isn't much of a personal feel to anything. SJSU is a wonderful school for many people. While SJSU may be lacking somewhat in a few areas, it has a solid academic program and at a cheaper price than most other four year universities.

  san jose state university is a great school for those in the business, technology, and nursing fields. The average student age is much high than other universities. The experienced student body creates a great environment for learning. SJSU is in the heart of Business and Technology hot spot, career opportunities are abundant when you graduate.

  I had a great experience at this school. I transfered to SJSU from a local junior college and experienced some culture shock at first. But once I got into the flow of things I learned a lot and met some good people. If your in one of the impacted programs (Business, Engineering) apply for graduation as soon as possible, even if you think you don't have enough credits apply anyway. As soon as your application for graduation is accepted you'll be given a very early registration time , thus ensuring you'll get the classes you want and need.

  SJSU is a great place to study. Professors are excellent in helping and teaching students. Living cost is fair. Student are good and helping. There are always some activities keeps on going. So its a fun place to be.



Only bad part is Admission department and Engineering department. It seems they are not compatable. Engineering dept. is highly unorganized (yep!! Unorganized) nobody knows whats going on there. Except that SJSU ROCKS.
