There were a lot of positives about Quincy University. The facutly is outstanding, having resumes including both impressive academic and real-world experience, and I felt that I really learned a lot in my time there.
However the administration is quite poor at QU. over the 4 years I was there, numerous dollars were spent on things like rock gardens and shrubbery or a second weight room for the football team while the dormatories were falling further and further into disrepair.
The sad fact is, QU is quite low on money. Few of the classrooms are smart classrooms (TV, Internet connection, ELMO, etc), the dorms are pretty terrible, and the library is not well-equipped at all.
QU's food is adequate. It is not great (you're in college) but it is not terrible either. The school has recently built a small cafe, adding new meal options.
One of the major drawbacks to QU is that it is in Quincy, IL. Quincy is a small town (38,XXX people) situated in the middle of nowhere. Unfortunately, there is not much to do in the town and the nearest larger city (Springfield, IL) is 110 miles away.
I cannot overestimate the importance of QU's teaching faculty. While I was there, each professor I encountered was helpful and knowledgeable. However, if you are not a fan of the small-town feeling or HAVE to be in the most technologically advanced school, QU is not for you.
