While I was at Purdue, only about 18% of the students were Greek, but they dominated the campus activities, athletes, and social life--especially important for locating females! As might be expected at an engineering/technicological school, men far outnumber women--find one early in the year.
Academics were rigorus but gnerally appropriate--most programs and majors werre too rigidly structured, especially the many engineering tracks. Professors were surprizingly available especially in one's major classes at the upper division (Jrs & Srs), but the student had to take responsibility for initiating contact and interchange with faculty.
