NAU has a very calm and peaceful campus. Remember that it DOES snow in Arizona. This is also a very liberal and environmentally aware college as many classes are based around these types of views. I would go back again for graduate school if I had the choice.

For those that are considering NAU. Congrats, I loved my time up in the mountains. Be prepaired for some crazy weather, but have fun. I would choose to go to NAU again if I had the chance. It was far enough away from home, but it was close enough in case I ever needed anything. Considering I had always lived in Phoenix, I totally loved being up in Flagstaff, where I for the first time ever experienced the seasons actually changing.

If you like unpredictable winters and a small town feel, this is the place for you. Small, intimate campus; you know half the people there by the end of your freshman year. You'll get plenty of exercise walking around campus, as its uphill both ways. If you're a guy finding a girl is no problem, girls will have a bit more trouble as the guy to girl ratio is 1:3. Lots of great places to eat, not a lot of places to shop. Living costs are expensive, especially off campus. Driving across town only takes 15 minutes. Lots of great outdoor oppurtunities for 4-wheeling, hunting, paintball, camping, etc. Snow sucks, so do the trians.
