Northeastern State University is a small university in Tahlequah Oklahoma boasting a beautiful campus, excellent student/instructor ratios, and one of the best Optometry programs in the country. NSU's education program is strong, and is well supported by the university. The University has just completed a brand new science lab building, and is in the process of remodeling the science and mathematics building as well. The campus network has just completed the final phase of upgrade, and the entire campus is now a wireless hotspot. I would recommend this college to anyone entering Optometry or Education, as well as the Science programs - which are improving under a strong new university committment.
NSU is a superb college in the arena of academics and their staff are among the best. There are too many positives to begin to list them all. The negatives are limited - very few of their classes are offered at the Muskogee campus (a huge consideration for me as a Muskogee resident) and in fact, the Muskogee campus is rather the step-child of the three main campuses. But, regardless of which campus you attend, you will receive an excellent education and my understanding is that receiving your education degree from NSU will almost guarantee you a teaching position nationwide. Other than the items mentioned above, I really cannot say anything negative about my experience at NSU - it is a top notch university.
